Joining the Dragons!!!

Hey everyone,

The London Dragons committee sincerely hopes that you’ve enjoyed both of the tryout sessions held in Lea Valley this and last week!!! Thank you very much for coming!!

NOW, it is time to join the Dragons and compete with other British unis for the BUIHA cup!!!

If you liked what the Dragons can offer you, you will have to join and become an official member of the ULU Ice Hockey Club.  Here is what you need to do:

1. Get your ULU Full/Associate membership card from the ULU building (click to show map).
• You’ll get this card in the reception
• Bring your Student ID and a passport-sized photograph
• Students of University of London i.e. those who study at one of the UL colleges (click to get a list of them) are Full members and will get this card for free, anyone else is going to have to get the Associate card (this costs about 15 pounds)
2. Fill in and bring us the ULU registration form
• Both Full and Associate members have to do that; you are basically telling ULU that you want to play for the Dragons – the more people join the better as it is easier for the club to get funded!!
• Please fill it in carefully, especially when filling in your ULU card number (put all 12 digits in)
• You can download these forms HERE (both for Associate and Full members; under the section Membership Forms)
• Bring these forms either to any of the trainings or just put in in the ULU Ice Hockey pigeon hole at ULU (2nd floor, left side of the corridor); alternatively, bring it to Tom on Tuesday – he will be in ULU from 13:00 to 18:00
3. Bring the registration fee
• The fee is set to £250; this includes ice rink hire and training, BUIHA registrations, games, partial transport costs to away games and commraderie.
• I know this is a lot of money, especially when you are students but unfortunately playing ice hockey in London is very expensive. Trust us, we are trying to make this fee as low as possible (any enquiries about this, please don’t hesitate to ask)
4. Get ready for the new season!!!!!
• The first match starts on the 5th of November for the B team (BUIHA Division 2 South) and 19th of November for the A team (BUIHA Division 1 South) so train hard and remember that you are representing the Dragons, BUIHA 2010/2011 National Champions
• The schedule for all the fixtures and other information can be found on the BUIHA website HERE

IMPORTANT!!!!!!

You MUST bring the money and the registration form next week!!!!!!So your options are either to bring both to any of the trainings and give it to either me (Michael), Tom or Lud OR bring to Tom who will be at ULU on Tuesday, 25th of October. If you, for some reason, cannot make it to ULU or training next week, let us know, we’ll sort something out.

This is OBLIGATORY for EVERYONE who wants to join to Dragons; otherwise you will not be let on the ice!!!
